.........................Ian Schneller, Sam Prekop, David Kroll, Brad Wood, (Eric Claridge, Joe Vajarsky replace David Kroll on 5+7) The luminous final album released during Shrimp Boat's lifetime. Supreme joy and heartbreaking wonder, awesome, complete fulfillment of the promise and matching the accumulated praise. Cavale was originally released by Bar-None (US) & Rough Trade (UK/Germany) in early 1993, just prior to the band's dissolution. It had also been long out of print until this Bomba reissue. |

.........................Ian Schneller, Sam Prekop, David Kroll, Eric Claridge, Brad Wood While the band waited for Bar-None to release Duende, Ian Schneller went through the group's archives, pulling together recordings which spanned from their very early years all the way up to material that had just been recorded at Idful Music. The band released this set themselves on Specimen Products in 1991 in a numbered edition of 1000 copies. Cheers again to Bomba for making this proto-Something Grand set available anew; another fascinating journey through the treasure trove of the SB archive. |

.........................Ian Schneller, Sam Prekop, David Kroll, Brad Wood Shrimp Boat's second album recorded in a 'proper studio'; this gem of gems was the long-awaited followup to Speckly. I can't say enough about the enduring beauty and wonder of this album. It was originally released by Bar-None (US) & Rough Trade (UK/Germany) in 1992. It had been long out of print until this Bomba reissue. |

Some Biscuit |
||
.........................Ian Schneller, Sam Prekop, David Kroll, Eric Claridge Some Biscuit and Daylight Savings were the group's first two releases, cassette-only editions of 100 copies each which delighted their Chicago fans in 1988. Rare and wonderful early albums that capture the band first magnifying their profound promise. Remastered and finally collected together for CD release, the bonus track found on the master reel for Daylight Savings was inexplicably left off the original cassette edition. A few of these songs were included on Something Grand, prior to Bomba Records expressing interest in this catalog reissue project, for which we give our thanks and praise! |
